About The Position

Gong harnesses the power of AI to transform how revenue teams win. The Gong Revenue AI Operating System unifies data, insights, and workflows into a single, trusted system that observes, guides, and acts alongside the world’s most successful revenue teams. Powered by the Gong Revenue Graph, AI-powered intelligence, specialized agents, and trusted applications, Gong helps more than 5,000 companies around the world deeply understand their teams and customers, automate critical sales workflows, and close more deals with less effort. At Gong, you will join a company built on innovative products, ambitious goals, and passionate people. We are shaping the future of revenue intelligence and we want people who are excited to build what comes next. You will work with a team that dreams big, moves fast, and cares deeply about the craft and about each other. Here, transparency and trust are core to how we operate, and every person has the opportunity to make a visible impact. If you want to grow, stretch, and do work that truly matters, Gong is the place to do the best work of your career. Gong is looking for a Senior Director of Growth Marketing to lead our Organic, Paid Media, and Paid Search functions. This is a pipeline generation role first: you'll own the strategy and results across our paid and owned channels, and you'll be measured on the pipeline and revenue those channels produce. What's changed is how that pipeline gets built. Buyers increasingly discover and shortlist vendors through content, AI-driven search, and channels well outside a traditional demand generation funnel, so we want a leader who treats earning attention there as a direct driver of pipeline, not a separate initiative running alongside it. That means bringing a creator's instincts to this work alongside the instincts of a traditional growth leader: a real point of view on what earns attention today, hands-on experience building it, and enough range across organic, paid, and web channels to know where to place the bet. This is fundamentally a leadership role, not an individual-contributor one. But we've found that leaders who've done the work themselves are better at coaching a team to do it well.

Requirements

  • 15+ years in growth or performance marketing, including 5+ years managing managers (not just individual contributors) with real ownership of Paid Search, Paid Social, and SEO/AEO
  • Experience owning a growth budget with a scale of more than $20M annually across multiple channels
  • A track record of tying growth activity to commercial outcomes; owning pipeline and revenue contribution, and efficiency metrics like CAC, pipeline-per-dollar, or blended CPA, across paid and owned channels
  • A track record of managing budgets in the range this role will own, with clear evidence of efficiency AND experimentation (not just one or the other)
  • Strong measurement instincts with comfortability building attribution and testing frameworks that prove what's working, including in channels that are inherently harder to measure precisely
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Web/Design/Brand/PR/AR teams without owning them directly
  • A bias toward testing new channels early, with a point of view on where audiences are moving next
  • Experience using digital channels to break into new industries or geographies
  • People leadership experience with a demonstrated coaching style that empowers rather than controls
  • B2B SaaS experience preferred; comfort with complex, considered sales cycles a plus
  • Direct, hands-on experience creating content meant to capture attention — social-native video, founder-led content, influencer-style formats — not just briefing others to make it

Nice To Haves

  • A personal or professional portfolio of content you've created and grown an audience with (a newsletter, a YouTube channel, a LinkedIn following, TikToks, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Paid Search — our largest growth investment, and the channel with the most existing operational maturity
  • Paid Media — LinkedIn, Display (via Demandbase), and YouTube, roughly equal in weight to each other and collectively comparable in size to Paid Search
  • Organic & AI Search — SEO, plus AEO/GEO (answer- and generative-engine optimization): owning our visibility, citation rate, and share of voice inside AI answers (ChatGPT, Anthropic, Google AI Overviews/AI Mode, Copilot, Gemini) as buyers increasingly research and shortlist vendors there before they ever reach our site
  • Earned channel influence — Reddit, YouTube, Wikipedia, analyst platforms like Gartner, and other sources that shape how AI engines and buyers perceive Gong; you won't own execution here, but you'll partner closely with the teams who do (PR, AR, Social) to make sure our presence there is deliberate
  • Website partnership — you'll shape strategy and priorities for web initiatives in close partnership with the Web team, though they won't report into you. In the AI era, that includes making sure the site is machine-readable and extractable (clean structure, schema, answer-shaped content) so LLMs can retrieve and cite it — not just optimizing for human UX
