About The Position

The Sr. Director, Global Packaging Strategic Key Accounts is responsible for developing and executing the global strategy for assigned multinational customers to drive profitable growth, strengthen long-term partnerships, and ensure flawless execution across regions. This role leads global account planning, coordinates cross-regional commercial teams, and serves as the executive interface between the company and the customer's global leadership. This role sits on Packaging Global Leadership Team. The position requires strong strategic thinking, commercial leadership, and the ability to align internal functions (sales, supply chain, R&D, finance) to deliver superior value to global customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic account management, preferably in a global context.
  • Proven track record of managing complex, multi-national customer relationships and delivering significant business growth.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans that drive global business results.
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel domestic and internationally as required – more than 50%

Responsibilities

  • Global Account Strategy Develop and execute global key account strategies aligned with company growth and profit objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to expand business across regions, products, and applications.
  • Lead long-term strategic planning with customers to build sustainable partnerships.
  • Customer Relationship Leadership Build and maintain executive-level relationships with global customer leadership.
  • Act as the primary global contact for the assigned key accounts.
  • Lead global business reviews and strategic planning sessions with customers.
  • Revenue & Growth Management Deliver revenue, profitability, and market share growth for 7 global key accounts and drive growth in 5 prospect accounts.
  • Manage global pricing strategy, RFQ and contract negotiations.
  • Identify cross-selling and innovation opportunities.
  • Cross-Regional Coordination Coordinate regional sales teams to ensure consistent global customer engagement.
  • Align commercial activities across USCA, LATAM, EMEA, and Asia.
  • Drive collaboration between global and local teams to maximize customer value.
  • Internal Leadership & Alignment Lead global account teams consisting of direct team of key account managers and indirect team of regional key account managers, technical service, S&T and supply chain representatives.
  • Ensure alignment between customer needs and internal capabilities.
  • Advocate for customer priorities internally.
  • Operational Excellence Ensure flawless execution of supply commitments and service levels.
  • Monitor performance metrics including volume, profitability, service level, and working capital.
  • Resolve escalated commercial or operational issues.
  • Customer satisfaction and loyalty through proactive engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Global Account Governance Develop and implement governance structures for global accounts, including performance metrics, regular reviews, and escalation processes to ensure accountability and transparency.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with global account relationships, including contractual, operational, and reputational risks.
  • Market Intelligence: Maintain deep knowledge of industry trends, competitor activity, and customer strategies to inform account planning and positioning.
