About The Position

This role is a key strategic partner to senior leadership, responsible for transforming complex financial data into clear, actionable insights that drive enterprise decision-making. The Senior Director will lead efforts to understand business performance at a granular level—including profitability by product—and translate results into compelling narratives that influence corporate strategy, capital allocation, and organizational priorities.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in financial services
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
  • Significant experience within Life Insurance & Annuities industry required
  • Proven ability to translate complex financial data into clear business insights and recommendations
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, with the ability to analyze performance at a detailed/product level
  • Experience influencing senior leaders and contributing to strategic decision-making
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Excel and data tools
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complexity

Responsibilities

  • Translate Financial Results into Insightful Narratives: Analyze and synthesize complex financial results into clear, concise, and actionable insights for executive leadership. Communicate key drivers of performance in a way that is accessible to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Drive Product-Level Profitability Analysis: Develop a deep understanding of profitability across products, channels, and segments. Identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide recommendations to optimize financial performance and strategic positioning.
  • Lead Strategic Financial Analysis & Decision Support: Partner with senior management to provide forward-looking analysis that supports strategic planning, business initiatives, and long-term value creation. Influence decisions through data-driven insights and thoughtful financial perspectives.
  • Enhance Forecasting & Performance Management: Support the development of advanced forecasting capabilities, including improved statutory forecasting and variance analysis. Continuously refine methodologies to increase accuracy and business relevance.
  • Own Financial Reporting & Variance Analysis: Oversee the preparation, analysis, and presentation of quarterly statutory results. Deliver meaningful variance analysis (actual vs. expected) that highlights key business drivers and informs leadership actions.
  • Build Analytical Tools & Data Infrastructure: Lead the development of scalable analytical tools, dashboards, and databases that enable deeper insights and more efficient reporting. Promote a data-driven culture across the organization.
  • Lead and Influence Across the Organization: Serve as a thought leader within FP&A, leading the team and influencing cross-functional teams. Drive alignment around key financial insights and strategic priorities.
