About The Position

The Leading Hotels of the World is seeking our first ever Sr. Director, Corporate Strategy. In this newly created role, the Sr. Director, Corporate Strategy directs and articulates the LHW enterprise strategy in partnership with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team. The role ensures long-term growth priorities are clearly defined, analytically grounded, and translated into actionable initiatives across the organization. Serving as a strategic advisor and integrator, the Sr. Director, Corporate Strategy provides insight on market opportunities, competitive dynamics, luxury consumer trends, and industry developments that inform enterprise priorities and growth initiative. The role works closely with Member Experience, Development, Commercial, Digital and Data leadership to outline opportunities, whether surfaced internally or based on market trends, to ensure corporate strategy reflects evolving market conditions and positions LHW for long-term growth. This is a full-time position located in New York City. We offer flexible workplace policies that allow for working remotely 3 days a week and require being in our NYC office 2 days a week (Wednesdays and Thursdays).

Requirements

  • Proven strategic leader with experience building from scratch, developing and evolving corporate strategy within complex, multi-stakeholder organizations
  • Strong ability to translate strategy into actionable priorities, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes
  • Experience evaluating long-term growth opportunities, including portfolio expansion and new service development
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders across Commercial, Marketing, Digital, Finance, and Data teams without direct line ownership
  • Sound judgment with the ability to balance near-term execution realities with long-term positioning
  • Ability to demonstrate LHW’s performance drivers (Accountability, Adaptability, Collaboration, Curiosity, and Empathy)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and periodic refresh of LHW’s corporate strategy in partnership with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, ensuring clear articulation of long-term growth objectives and strategic priorities
  • Build business cases that define ROI from financial and value add perspectives
  • Frame long-term growth opportunities, strategic choices, risks, and trade-offs to inform executive decision-making and enterprise prioritization
  • Lead ongoing market, competitive, industry, and performance analysis - including scenario planning - to inform strategic choices and support Board discussions related to corporate strategy and long-term growth
  • Identify emerging markets, geographic expansion opportunities, and evolving luxury hospitality trends that inform LHW’s long-term growth strategy, investments and development priorities
  • Provide strategic insight to inform the evolution of LHW’s member value proposition and business model based on competitive dynamics, marketplace trends, and emerging industry practices, partnering closely with the Member Experience organization
  • Leverage financial models and scenario analyses to evaluate both direct revenue opportunities and initiatives that enhance the overall value of LHW membership
  • Translate strategic direction into a coherent set of enterprise priorities with clear ownership, sequencing, success metrics, and cross-functional alignment
  • Establish and manage an enterprise strategy management process, including KPI tracking, quarterly strategy reviews, and a disciplined approach to identifying, prioritizing, and elevating initiatives for enterprise project management.
  • Lead and develop the Corporate Strategy and Strategic Growth team to support execution of the corporate growth agenda
  • In partnership with our Business Intelligence & Customer Insights team, identify emerging geographic markets, destination trends, and hospitality product innovations that may represent strategic opportunities for LHW investment.
  • Provide market intelligence and strategic analysis that informs Development leadership on priority markets and growth opportunities.
  • Track luxury travel trends, competitive developments, and evolving hotel product offerings to inform long-term growth strategy.
  • Lead the evaluation, prioritization, and incubation of new services and growth opportunities
  • Oversee development of business cases and recommend prioritization and sequencing to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team
  • Partner with Commercial, Marketing, and Digital leaders to ensure alignment between functional strategies and enterprise strategy
  • Support annual business planning and investment prioritization processes and contribute strategic analysis to capital allocation discussions and major growth initiatives
  • Partner with functional leaders to drive alignment and change management for enterprise initiatives, ensuring clear communication, adoption planning, and accountability across the organization
