About The Position

This role is part of Alcon's Finance, Accounting, & Audit function, a team that advances Alcon's financial strategy and ensures fiscal responsibility as we transform the eye care industry. The Sr. Director, Business Planning & Analysis (Management Path), is primarily responsible for leading financial planning, partnering with senior leadership to develop strategic insights, evaluate risks, and optimize resources. You will lead financial modeling, monitor key metrics, and provide actionable recommendations to enhance performance. Lead Finance for Corporate Functions, overseeing ~$1.4B of global G&A and M&S spend plus CAPEX across IT, Digital Health, HR, Finance, Legal, Executive/Board, and Compensation & Benefits, supported by a team of ~10–14 associates with a strong Mexico COE footprint. Accountable for end-to-end financial management, including performance management, forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range planning Drive cost discipline, resource allocation, and productivity initiatives Partner closely with ELT and functional leaders to prioritize investments, assess ROI (particularly for digital and IT programs), and ensure alignment with enterprise strategy. Maintain strong financial controls and compliance (including SOX), while enhancing transparency, data quality, and reporting rigor. Act as a catalyst for FP&A transformation—advancing analytics, standardization, and technology adoption to improve decision support and productivity

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 12 Years of Relevant Experience
  • 8 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
  • Requires strong executive presence, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge constructively, drive change, and lead a high-performing global team

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of financial models and forecasts
  • Provide financial insights to leadership teams, supporting decision-making with actionable recommendations on cost management, pricing strategies, and investment opportunities
  • Collaborate with accounting and operations teams to ensure accurate month-end close processes, accruals, and reserves
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis of profit/loss statements, working capital, and other financial metrics
  • Analyze economic trends (interest rates, exchange rates) and their potential impact on business operations
  • Evaluate alternative business scenarios and recommend adjustments to ensure financial stability and growth
  • Set and monitor financial performance metrics to drive value creation and improve operational efficiency
  • Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports, fostering professional growth and driving team performance
