Sr. Director, Business Operations & Planning-Xumo

ComcastPhiladelphia, PA
$173,605 - $231,474Hybrid

About The Position

Xumo, a joint venture between Comcast and Charter Communications, was formed to develop and offer a next-generation streaming platform for the entire entertainment industry. The company consists of three primary lines of business: Xumo devices, Xumo Play, and Xumo Enterprise. Powered by Comcast’s global entertainment platform, Xumo devices feature a world-class user interface with universal voice search capabilities, making it easy for consumers to find and enjoy their favorite streaming content. Xumo Play is a free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) service offering hundreds of linear channels and on-demand options. Xumo Enterprise provides tools and services for content creators, distributors, and advertisers to make FAST content more accessible. The Senior Director, Business Operations & Planning directs the analytical and operational agenda for Xumo's FAST business. The role orchestrates business cases, modeling, and performance analysis that inform senior leadership decisions on partnerships, monetization, and investment, and influences operational direction across the function. Working in close partnership with Finance, Commercial, Product, Content, and Business Intelligence, the role drives cross-functional analytical workstreams, provides the FAST business perspective into corporate planning processes, and represents Business Operations & Planning in executive forums. This is a highly cross-functional and senior-facing role, requiring commercial fluency, strong analytical and modeling skills, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across the organization and drive outcomes without direct authority. This is an individual contributor role; the Senior Director is expected to be hands-on with the analytical work, not only directing it. This role reports to the VP, Business Operations & Planning.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience across business operations, strategic finance, corporate development, management consulting, or strategy roles, with meaningful time in an operating role.
  • Streaming, media, or digital platform experience required; direct experience with FAST, AVOD, SVOD, or platform / distribution businesses is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills, with the ability to build financial and business models, stress-test assumptions, and translate outputs into clear business recommendations.
  • Strong commercial fluency, with a deep understanding of revenue, cost, and margin levers across consumer and B2B businesses.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complexity into clear narratives and prepare executive-ready materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence decision-making at the senior leadership level.
  • Proficiency in Excel and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Periscope, PowerPoint / Google Slides).
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10 Years +

  • Oversee deep-dive analyses on Xumo Play business performance (engagement, retention, monetization, and growth) in partnership with Business Intelligence and Product, translating data into clear narratives and actionable recommendations.
  • Lead variance analysis and root cause diagnostics, and develop the analytical decks, memos, and talking points that frame business performance and strategic analysis for Executive Leadership audiences.
