About The Position

Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, brings expanded services to a new building located at 6225 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno. The facility will offer acute rehabilitation and adult behavioral health services. Our acute rehabilitation services include occupational, speech, and physical therapy for adults recovering from stroke, injury, or another disabling condition. We offer advanced treatment for a wide range of conditions including stroke, brain injury, amputation, neurological disorders, major multiple traumas and spinal cord and back injuries. All patients will experience private rooms, have access to a newly renovated therapy gym, and personalized care from our qualified staff. The adult behavioral health services offered is an expansion to our current 50 and older program at NNMC. The new program will offer behavioral health services to all adults 18 years and older. The department is managed through a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, CNAs, social workers, and therapists. Patients will experience an individualized care plan, inclusive of individual and family therapy, activities, medication management, and a 24-hour secure, compassionate environment. Website: www.northernnevadahealth.com Job Summary: This Sr. Dietary Aide opportunity is Full Time on Nutrition Services deparment and offers full benefits and a convenient schedule. Under the direct supervision of the Food & Nutrition Services Director, Supervisor, or Lead, the Diet Clerk performs a variety of patient food service duties in the clerk office and café. The position includes use of computer programs to assist patients and visitors in meal selections.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • ServSafe Certification preferred.
  • Foodservice experience, or equivalent nutrition coursework, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains necessary information from reports or computer systems (Clerks: Cerner/CBORD, Cashiers: Simphony) such as diet/supplement orders, allergies, recipes and daily ops summary.
  • Utilizes computer, or register, systems appropriately to record orders, preferences and allergies.
  • Documentation meets requirements of position. For cashier, this includes maintaining cash drawer and daily deposits
  • Identifies and understands different therapeutic diets. Demonstrates ability to apply knowledge of diets when assisting patients with meal choices. For cashier, understands menu and recipes to assist customers in meal choices.
