About The Position

SS&C is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will play a critical role in automating our server infrastructure, streamlining our deployment processes, and championing DevOps best practices across the organization. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, Infrastructure Automation, or related role.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one scripting language, preferably Python, for automation tasks.
  • Extensive experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar.
  • Experience working with and automating interactions with various APIs (RESTful, SOAP, etc.).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automating physical and/or virtual infrastructure within an enterprise environment
  • Experience with server hardware management and automation (e.g., IPMI, Dell iDRAC, HP iLO).
  • Understanding of datacenter operations and DCIM tools
  • Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) concepts and automation.
  • Experience with security automation and compliance.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
  • Experience with event-time processing, windowing, watermarking, and handling late/out-of-order events.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust and scalable automation solutions for physical and virtual server infrastructure provisioning using tools like Ansible, Python, or similar.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflows leveraging various APIs (e.g., cloud provider APIs, virtualization platform APIs, hardware management APIs, internally developed APIs).
  • Architect, implement, and manage our Kubernetes infrastructure for deploying, scaling, and maintaining containerized applications.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment of applications to Kubernetes.
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure system health and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to integrate automation and DevOps practices into their workflows.
  • Drive the adoption of DevOps best practices, including infrastructure as code, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated testing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal tooling and documentation.
  • Mentor and guide junior members of the team.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in DevOps, automation, and cloud computing.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as needed to ensure the availability of critical systems.
