About The Position

Nuuly is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join its growing Platform Engineering team. The role builds and maintains features that enhance systems and provides technical guidance to the business as it adopts features developed by engineering teams. It supports seamless production-infrastructure scalability and helps identify growth concerns in advance. The position designs, implements, and maintains cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and manages containerized applications using Kubernetes. It also supports the optimization of the cloud environment and development and deployment processes, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and efficiency. The role offers experience with Kubernetes, Kafka, and GCP.

Requirements

More than 3 years of hands-on experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure.
Knowledge of streaming data, distributed-systems design, and asynchronous message brokers such as Kafka.
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Deployment Manager.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Experience designing and managing GCP cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and IAM.
Experience managing Kubernetes deployments, monitoring, scaling, and troubleshooting.
Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GCP and GitHub Actions.
Understanding of Kafka components such as Zookeeper and Brokers, and optimization of Kafka client applications (Producers/Consumers).
Proficiency in YAML and writing structured configuration files for infrastructure management and application deployment.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Shell.
Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration concepts.
Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage scalable, highly available cloud infrastructure on GCP, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Networking, and Confluent Kafka.
Collaborate with software development teams to establish efficient CI/CD pipelines and automate application deployments.
Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to maintain cloud infrastructure health, performance, and security.
Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize the Kafka message broker for event-driven architecture and system performance.
Work with cross-functional teams to identify performance bottlenecks and improve overall system performance.
Secure cloud infrastructure and applications by implementing best practices and staying current with security threats and mitigations.
Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, deployment, and application issues.
Develop and maintain infrastructure, deployment-process, and troubleshooting documentation.
Stay informed about developments in cloud technologies, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices, and propose relevant infrastructure improvements.
