About The Position

Coordinates and/or undertakes the design development, production, and delivery of projects as a member of a project design team or on individual projects. Assignments require independent action and decision-making, as well as the ability to supervise others. The role develops architectural documents and design studies, translates design intent into technical documents, supports project coordination and quality control, and contributes to sustainable design solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in architecture required.
More than 3 years of experience, or equivalent in appropriate education and experience, required.

Nice To Haves

LEED accreditation or Green Associate preferred.

Responsibilities

Analyze and develop approaches to creating and modifying architectural documents, elevations, sections, and details, incorporating design intent.
Develop, modify, and/or review drawings according to established standards.
Develop presentations and early design studies; prepare 2D and 3D presentation and design drawings and build models for client and project-team review.
Translate design intent into technical documents.
May lead a small team of junior technicians in developing solutions to technical and design-detail problems following established standards.
Assist with coordination of project information among clients, consultants, and contractors.
Assist the team leader in ensuring documentation for all phases conforms to QA/QC and HOK Best Practice Standards; apply appropriate QA/QC methods throughout the project.
Conduct product and code research and incorporate codes into technical documents.
Mentor and direct less experienced staff and may participate in professional development reviews.
May regularly interface with clients and consultants and assist with work planning and scheduling.
May assist the team with construction-administration document management.
Ensure HOK document standards are met and archive documents appropriately.
May help set up project-team software parameters and manage standards.
Facilitate internal and external communications and track project data in electronic files.
Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects and foster a green workplace through sustainable work practices.
Foster a commitment to external and internal client service.
