About The Position

This role focuses on End-to-End Flow Design, translating business requirements into intuitive user journeys and interaction models. The Sr. Design Lead will identify friction points and opportunities for improvement in conversion, usability, and engagement. Responsibilities include Prototype Development & Research Support, creating low- and high-fidelity prototypes in Figma to support user testing and concept validation, and partnering with UX Research to design experiments. Figma & Design System Ownership involves building and maintaining scalable design components, libraries, and reusable patterns in Figma, leveraging AI-assisted design tools, and ensuring consistency across experiences. The role requires Cross-Functional Collaboration with Digital Product Managers, engineers, and researchers, participating in design reviews and sprint planning, and communicating design rationale clearly. Support for Public & Authenticated Experience is crucial, ensuring cohesive UX across acquisition, onboarding, and in-product experiences while balancing customer needs, technical constraints, and business goals. Innovation & Concept Exploration involves developing new product ideas through rapid prototyping and experimentation, exploring emerging UX patterns and AI-assisted design. Email & Lifecycle Experience Design includes designing user journeys for lifecycle communications and drafting/refining email copy. Continuous Improvement & Measurement involves partnering with Product and Research to measure the impact of design changes and using data to refine user experiences.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in UX/Product Design, with a strong track record of owning and delivering end-to-end digital experiences
  • Strong flow thinker — naturally design clear, intuitive user journeys across complex products (onboarding, dashboards, transactions, etc.)
  • Highly proficient in Figma, including prototyping, component systems, and emerging tools like Figma Make / AI-assisted design
  • Hands-on experience designing prototypes for research, and partnering closely with UX researchers to test and iterate on ideas
  • Understand both public (marketing) and authenticated product experiences, and can design seamlessly across both
  • Comfortable leading and guiding design work, including directing and reviewing work from contract designers to ensure quality and consistency
  • Thrive in cross-functional environments, working closely with product managers, researchers, and engineering teams
  • Can balance speed and quality, moving quickly from concept to prototype while maintaining a high bar for usability and polish
  • Strong communication skills, and can clearly explain design decisions to stakeholders and leadership
  • Comfortable contributing to content and lifecycle experiences, including drafting and refining email copy and user communications when needed
  • Curious and product-minded, always looking for ways to improve the customer experience and drive better outcomes

Responsibilities

  • Design and evolve user flows across the full product lifecycle, including onboarding, funding, withdrawals, dashboard, gifting, public site, and student experiences
  • Translate business requirements and product goals into clear, intuitive user journeys and interaction models
  • Identify friction points and opportunities to improve conversion, usability, and engagement
  • Create low- and high-fidelity prototypes (primarily in Figma) to support user testing and concept validation
  • Partner closely with UX Research to design experiments, usability tests, and A/B tests
  • Iterate designs rapidly based on user feedback, insights, and analytics
  • Build and maintain scalable design components, libraries, and reusable patterns within Figma
  • Leverage tools such as Figma Make / AI-assisted design to accelerate ideation and prototyping
  • Ensure consistency across public and authenticated experiences through strong design system adherence
  • Work closely with Digital Product Managers, engineers, and researchers to deliver high-impact experiences
  • Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, and cross-functional discussions to align on priorities and constraints
  • Communicate design rationale clearly to stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Contribute to public site experiences and authenticated application flows
  • Ensure cohesive UX across acquisition, onboarding, and in-product experiences
  • Balance customer needs, technical constraints, and business goals when designing solutions
  • Develop innovative concepts and new product ideas through rapid prototyping and experimentation
  • Explore emerging UX patterns, AI-assisted design approaches, and new interaction paradigms
  • Support early-stage initiatives and strategic product bets
  • Design user journeys and flows for lifecycle communications (e.g., onboarding reminders, nudges, re-engagement)
  • Draft and refine email copy in collaboration with product and marketing teams to ensure clarity, tone, and effectiveness
  • Validate messaging through testing and research where applicable
  • Partner with Product and Research to measure the impact of design changes (conversion, drop-off, satisfaction)
  • Use data and insights to continuously refine and improve user experiences
