About The Position

Little, a nationally recognized "Best Firm to Work For" and one of the nation's most progressive design firms, is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect for its Land Development Studio in Durham, NC. This senior role offers significant growth opportunities, focusing on shaping site and planting designs from concept through construction. The position involves collaboration with in-house civil engineers and other disciplines, mentorship of junior designers, and leadership in design efforts. Requirements

  • A degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • Registration as a Landscape Architect.
  • 8+ years of experience, including some experience guiding or reviewing the work of other designers.
  • Strong skills in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SketchUp, Photoshop, and other design software.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensure in more than one state, or the ability to obtain it.
  • LEED, SITES, or similar sustainability accreditation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of land development projects, from early concept and site planning through planting design and construction documents.
  • Own the design vision on projects and carry it from first sketch through to built work.
  • Provide design direction and mentorship to junior and mid-level staff, including reviewing their work, coaching them, and helping them grow.
  • Work directly with clients and multidisciplinary project teams, including in-house civil engineers, ensuring design intent is maintained across disciplines.
  • Research and document permitting processes for new jurisdictions and manage projects through review.
  • Set the standard for design quality, detail, and follow-through on every project.
