About The Position

Knowledge Management, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Data Scientist and Data Visualization SME to support Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps, LPO-2 at the Pentagon. The position supports operations, data aggregation, and Common Operational Picture (COP) development and maintenance in SharePoint and/or Teams environments on SIPR and NIPR networks. The role will build and manage a centralized, web-based COP that consolidates disparate information into visual formats to support situational awareness, coordination, and decision-making. The COP will leverage Microsoft SharePoint and related tools, including a central hub site, embedded Power BI dashboards, interactive maps through Power Apps or GIS, document libraries, and communication feeds. SharePoint lists will support real-time data aggregation; role-based permissions will control access; and Power Automate will support alerts and automated reporting. The position also provides logistics analysis and administrative support, including preparing and handling operational information and documents at classified and unclassified levels. The role requires at least 15 years of U.S. Marine Corps logistics experience, current knowledge of Marine Corps prepositioning initiatives, relevant stakeholder experience, proficiency with Microsoft collaboration and analytics tools, and an active DoD Secret clearance. A bachelor's degree in a related field and prior military logistics experience at specified organizations are desired. The position is available immediately and is onsite at the Pentagon.

Requirements

Minimum of 15 years of experience with U.S. Marine Corps logistics.
Current knowledge of Marine Corps prepositioning initiatives.
Knowledge and experience working with ground systems stakeholders within HQMC CD&I, I&L, PEO-LS, MARCORSYSCOM, and TECOM.
Knowledge and experience with analytical tools such as Power BI, Copilot, DoD AI tools (including Maven Smart System and GenAI), and Excel macros.
Working knowledge of the Global Positioning Network (GPN), current prepositioning operations, War Reserve programs, and Classes of Supply tracking.
Proficiency in SharePoint and Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
Proficiency in data management, data aggregation, site architecture, and administration of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint on SIPR and NIPR networks.
Active DoD Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in business, operations research, data analytics, or a similar field.
Prior military logistician experience with tours of duty at Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps, Installations & Logistics (I&L), and/or Field Supply & Maintenance Analysis Office (FSMAO) teams.

Responsibilities

Maintain advanced operating knowledge of SharePoint and Teams functionality to maximize platform capabilities and optimize data collaboration across networks.
Maintain working knowledge of and active access to the Maven Smart System (MSS) to support mission-specific data integration and situational awareness.
Lead consolidation of GPN information into a COP hosted on SIPR and NIPR SharePoint and Teams.
Maintain a centralized SIPR and NIPR COP portal in SharePoint or Teams, including command-specific data upload areas.
Provide analytical support to track inventories, costs, and capacities across Classes of Supply I, II/VII, IIP, IV, VII, and IX using disparate and aggregated data.
Provide administrative support by reviewing, drafting, and responding to DoN Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2) items on SIPRNet and NIPRNet, AMHS messages, information, position and decision papers, PowerPoint briefs, and other documents at unclassified and classified levels.
Develop and maintain a SharePoint-based COP with dashboards, maps, document libraries, communication feeds, data aggregation, role-based permissions, automated alerts, and automated reporting.
