In this vital role you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting scientific computing platforms and shared analytical environments that enable efficient analysis, modeling, and collaboration across the organization. This includes configuring and maintaining core tools and packages, supporting version-controlled workflows, and enabling access to enterprise data sources and cloud-based infrastructure. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of standardized, reproducible, and traceable workflows that promote consistency, scalability, and FAIR data principles. They will work closely with scientists to improve data accessibility, automate routine processes, and deliver tools and applications that accelerate research and development activities.
Requirements
- Doctorate degree PhD OR PharmD OR MD [and relevant post-doc where applicable] OR Master’s degree and 3 years of Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent field experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent field experience
Nice To Haves
- Experience developing or supporting scientific computing environments, analytical tools, or data science platforms.
- 2+ years of experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in one or more scientific programming languages such as R or Python.
- Experience developing and deploying data-driven applications (e.g., R Shiny, Dash, Streamlit, or similar frameworks).
- Demonstrated experience accessing data warehouses using SQL.
- Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS, as well as experience in on-premises server management.
- Understanding of reproducible research practices, software lifecycle management, and FAIR data principles.
- Basic understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and pharmacokinetics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset and an eagerness to learn and share knowledge in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scientific computing platforms and shared analytical environments for data analysis and modeling.
- Design and implement scalable, reproducible workflows aligned with FAIR data principles and best practices.
- Enhance data accessibility and automate processes to improve research efficiency and productivity.
- Build and deploy reusable data-driven tools and applications to support scientific research and development.
- Collaborate with scientists and cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions and improve workflows.
- Provide training, documentation, and technical guidance, translating complex concepts for non-technical users and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
