About The Position

Join a high-impact team driving a large-scale cloud modernization initiative for a major enterprise in the gaming and hospitality sector. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will architect and implement data ingestion and ETL pipelines, moving data from on-premises systems into Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with a focus on BigQuery. Requirements

8+ years ETL experience using SQL Server SSIS (2008r2-2022)
10+ years with T-SQL programming
Strong mastery of Microsoft BI Stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow, Datastream), Azure SQL, or AWS equivalents
Advanced Python development for data workflows
Experience with Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools
Deep understanding of data modeling concepts (relational & dimensional)
Hands-on experience in migrating data from on-premises to cloud environments
Ability to build and optimize both batch and real-time data pipelines
Strong documentation, collaboration, and communication skills
Willingness to provide 24x7 on-call support as needed

Nice To Haves

Experience integrating APIs and external data feeds
Background in Databricks, Data Factory, AWS Glue, or similar tools
Exposure to gaming and hospitality data domains
Familiarity with Data Science data preparation, MDM, and Data Quality
Consulting or partner experience with enterprise cloud transformations
Python, Java, or .NET development, scripting languages, familiarity with DevOps practices

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize robust data ingestion pipelines to migrate enterprise data from on-premises sources to GCP-based platforms
Build, manage, and maintain ETL/ELT processes that load structured and unstructured data into centralized bronze/raw layers
Integrate data from a wide range of sources: SQL data warehouses, APIs, IBM iSeries/DB2, Excel, and file-based systems
Develop batch and near real-time data pipelines using Python and cloud-native services
Implement and support real-time data streaming with Dataflow and Datastream
Orchestrate complex data workflows using Apache Airflow
Support CI/CD processes for streamlined data engineering deployments
Collaborate closely with downstream analytics, data modeling, and reporting teams
Recommend architectural improvements and automation opportunities to optimize data engineering processes
Act as a technical leader, providing guidance and best practices for data migration and integration projects
