About The Position

The Sr Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, and build of security architectures. This role oversees the implementation of network and computer security and ensures compliance with corporate cybersecurity policies and procedures. They will have extensive experience in secure systems architecture, emerging technologies, threats, and regulatory requirements. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex security projects, stay updated with the latest industry trends, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization's security posture. In this role, you will plan, design, and build security architectures to protect the organization's information systems while overseeing the implementation of network and computer security measures. Ensuring compliance with corporate cybersecurity policies and procedures, you will conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks. You will develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into system designs and deployments. Monitoring and responding to security incidents and alerts, you will provide technical support and troubleshooting to maintain the organization's security posture. Staying updated with the latest industry trends, emerging threats, and regulatory requirements will be essential, as will participating in security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks. Additionally, you will apply knowledge of secure systems architecture to enhance the security of the organization's infrastructure, monitor and address emerging technologies and threats, and provide leadership and guidance to junior cybersecurity staff on security practices and technologies. Performing risk assessments to identify gaps in existing cybersecurity architectures, tools, or processes and proposing effective solutions will be a critical responsibility, along with decomposing cybersecurity frameworks and regulations into actionable system requirements.

Requirements

  • Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree or Masters +6 years experience).
  • Typically 8+ years of related experience.
  • Certifications: (1 or more required) GIAC (Global Information Assurance Certification), CISSP, CISM, or SANS level 400 courses.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies, emerging threats, and emerging regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of enterprise risk management.
  • Ability to design, develop, implement, document, improve, and operate all technologies, policies, and procedures for cybersecurity programs across one or more functional areas (analyze, collect & operate, investigate, operate and maintain, oversee and govern, protect and defend, or securely provision).
  • An active U.S. Secret clearance is required.

  • Proven experience with advanced persistent threat (APT) detection and mitigation.
  • Advanced knowledge of security architecture frameworks such as SABSA, TOGAF, or Zachman.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale security projects and initiatives.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic security roadmaps.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive change across the organization.
  • An active U.S. Top Secret clearance is highly preferred.
