About The Position

As Senior Regulatory Counsel at Pinterest, you will help lead the company’s engagement with regulators globally, covering a broad range of regulations including online safety, content, intermediary liability, and competition. In this role, you’ll manage cutting-edge matters for Pinterest and help the company build and maintain relationships with regulators globally. You will be responsible for responding to regulatory inquiries and requests for information, coordinating cross-functional responses across Legal and Business teams, and positioning Pinterest effectively and consistently in high-stakes regulatory matters. You will work closely with subject matter experts across Legal, as well as Public Policy and Communications, to assess regulatory developments, advise on risk, and support the company’s approach to evolving global content laws and regulatory frameworks. Pinterest operates under a new progressive work model called PinFlex, which describes their flexible approach to living and working. The company also emphasizes the use of AI as a powerful partner to augment creativity and amplify impact, and candidates are expected to be excited about being part of this, demonstrating their approach and thinking during the interview process.

Requirements

Qualified to practice law in the jurisdiction where you reside.
At least 5 years of post-qualification experience advising on content, platform, or other regulatory issues at a law firm, in-house, or at a regulatory body.
Experience engaging directly with regulators and managing regulatory inquiries, investigations, enforcement matters, or other government-facing processes.
Strong experience analyzing and applying global laws and regulatory frameworks, preferably in content regulation, online safety, intermediary liability, privacy, or other technology-related areas.
Excellent judgment and integrity, with strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to translate complex legal and regulatory issues, as well as nuanced product interventions, into clear, practical responses.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with an ability to drive alignment across teams in fast-moving, high-stakes environments.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities with independence, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
Eagerness to learn, strong ownership, and a flexible, collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Demonstrated ability to use AI and other technology tools effectively and responsibly and identify practical opportunities to improve effectiveness, or willingness to learn.

Nice To Haves

Experience navigating complex, multi-jurisdictional legal and compliance issues for a technology company or similarly dynamic environment preferred.
Experience with implementation and compliance with global content laws, preferred.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain strong relationships with Pinterest’s regulators globally, with a focus on content regulation, online safety, intermediary liability, and competition.
Lead responses to regulatory inquiries, requests for information, and other regulatory-facing matters, including coordinating with internal subject matter experts and outside counsel as needed.
Draft clear, persuasive materials for regulatory engagements including consultation responses, regulatory submissions, position papers, and related communications.
Defend the company in regulatory enforcement matters.
Provide strategic legal guidance to cross-functional partners and members of the Legal team on emerging regulatory requirements.
Partner closely with Legal, Public Policy, Communications, and other cross-functional teams to ensure consistent, well-supported regulatory positions and external messaging, including through the drafting of consultation responses to new laws.
Monitor ongoing developments in legislation and regulatory guidance applicable to Pinterest.
Support development of scalable approaches for managing regulatory risk across multiple jurisdictions while balancing local regulatory requirements and enforcement risks.
Leverage AI-enabled tools thoughtfully and responsibility to improve the efficiency, consistency, and scalability of regulatory workflows, including information gathering, issue spotting, and response coordination.
Identify opportunities to streamline repetitive regulatory processes through AI and other tools, while maintaining appropriate legal oversight and quality control.
Exercise strong judgment in reviewing and validating AI-assisted work product, ensuring that materials are accurate, nuanced, and aligned with Pinterest’s strategic positions.
