We are seeking a Regulatory Counsel to join our global Regulatory team, with a focus on payments, fintech, digital assets and financial services regulation across the United States and Canada. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified lawyer who is early in their career and eager to develop expertise in financial services regulation within a dynamic, fast-paced international environment. In this role you will be working closely and collaboratively with colleagues across the business to advise on applicable payment services regulation and regulatory guidance.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3-5 years post-qualification experience.
  • Admission to practice and good standing with at least one U.S. state bar or a Canadian provincial law society.
  • Team player with high self-motivation, positive ‘can-do’ attitude and collaborative approach
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues to multi-disciplinary teams

Responsibilities

  • Track, identify, and analyze U.S. federal and state regulatory developments affecting payments, fintech, and money services businesses, and advise internal stakeholders on their applicability to Paysafe.
  • Assist in advising business and product teams on U.S. regulatory requirements, including the regulatory implications of new product development, delivery channels, and partnerships.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including Compliance, Product, Risk, Internal Audit, and Finance, to ensure regulatory requirements are understood and embedded in day to day operations.
  • Support Paysafe’s engagement with U.S. regulators and supervisory authorities, including preparing and coordinating responses to regulatory inquiries, examinations, and information requests.
  • Assist with regulatory filings, as well as coordination with regulators and external counsel.
  • Support preparation of regulatory updates, reports, and materials for internal committees and senior management.
  • Draft regulatory analyses, position papers, training materials, and internal guidance for business and compliance teams.
  • Assist in responding to regulatory consultations, proposed rulemakings, and industry initiatives, and participate in relevant industry forums and trade associations as needed.
  • Work closely with Compliance, Finance, Operations, Product, and Commercial teams to ensure regulatory alignment with business objectives.
  • Contribute to internal education and training initiatives to promote regulatory awareness.
