About The Position

The Sr. Corporate Treasury Analyst supports the development and execution of strategic initiatives and essential functions of FirstBank’s Corporate Treasury team, with responsibilities spanning balance sheet management, liquidity and funding, governance, investments, and other Treasury activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics or other related field preferred; Master’s degree or CFA a plus (or the equivalent work experience thereof)
• 4+ years of related work experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with ZMdesk, Empyrean, or other ALM software
• Experience with financial modeling systems such as OneStream
• Knowledge of banking products

Responsibilities

• Assist the Deputy Treasurer in managing the securities investment portfolio
• Analyze bonds and other instruments held by the bank for individual trade opportunities
• Research investment sectors within fixed income markets and communicate developments and recommendations to the investment team
• Assist in analyzing credit risk, interest rate risk, prepayment risk and other risks for current and potential investments
• Assist with monthly portfolio analysis, reporting, and position reconciliation
• Assist with preparation of investment materials for investment committee, ALCO, and FirstBank Board of Directors meetings
• Coordinate with back-office teams to ensure proper booking of trades as well as timely and accurate settlement of trades
• Ensure documentation for investment processes and procedures is current and work with members of the Corporate Treasury team as needed for revisions
• Ensure compliance with investment policies and procedures and immediately report exceptions to the Deputy Treasurer
• Ensure investment meeting minutes are produced and provided for review in a timely fashion
• Prepare investment trade blotters and support trade validation, settlement, and related operating controls.
• Own and run the ALM model as dictated by the ALCO meeting schedule, export and analyze results, support stochastic analysis, and prepare ALCO and Board materials.
• Ensure ALM system is kept updated to the latest software version in a timely fashion or as appropriate
• Own and run the liquidity stress testing model and support model execution, result exports, and Liquidity Stress Model reporting.
• Run and report capital stress testing results and maintain the Capital Stress Model.
• Maintain quarterly interest-rate assumptions and loan prepayment assumptions used in the ALM process.
• Ensure documentation for ALM processes and procedures is current and work with members of the Corporate Treasury team as need for revisions
• Maintain documentation and procedures for Empyrean, deposit analytics, liquidity stress testing, derivative path, capital stress testing, and related model validation remediation.
• Ensure compliance with ALM policies and procedures and immediately report exceptions to the Deputy Treasurer
• Track all requests for additional information or analysis from ALCO and ensure proper follow up
• Prepare ALCO, Investment Committee, and Economic Forecast Committee meeting minutes.
• Support Treasury-related audits, issue remediation, and ongoing compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
• Initiate Treasury wires and perform daily cash reconciliation and daily deposit tracking.
• Develop short-term cash flow forecast assumptions and support related performance reporting and distribution.
• Support Federal Reserve and FHLB operational documentation, loan optimization, Federal Reserve stock reporting, correspondent access monitoring, Regulation F compliance, wholesale funding reporting documentation, and monthly statement files.
• Prepare monthly MSR valuation reporting and execute operational activities including pair-offs and daily accounting support.
• Prepare loan tapes and supporting analysis for capital relief transactions.
• Support operations for loan syndications, SBA loan sales, and whole loan sales.
• Prepare CITC materials and support tax credit purchase analysis and execution.
• Prepare Economic Forecast Committee materials and perform ad hoc Treasury reporting, analysis, and special projects as needed.
