GENERAL FUNCTION: The Sr. Corporate Investigator is responsible for investigating actual, alleged, and emerging incidents of threats, violence to include bank robberies and property crimes, and other disruptions in the workplace. These investigations address an array of concerning behaviors by current or former employees, contractors, customers, clients, visitors, guests, and others, that threaten the safety and well-being of persons engaged in company business, disrupt company operations, or cause harm to the company, its assets, or its reputation. When appropriate, the Sr. Corporate Investigator will partner with Legal, Human Resources, Employee Relations, Security, and others to investigate reports of workplace violence and to formulate and implement plans to effectively mitigate risks of violence and other disruptions. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank’s risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 7- 10 years of corporate and/or law enforcement investigative experience (prior experience conducting employee misconduct or workplace violence investigations is preferred)
  • Specialized training or certification in workplace violence prevention and interviewing
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimum supervision and collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • The Sr. Corporate Investigator is principally responsible for investigating reports of workplace violence, including bullying, harassment, threats, assaults, stalking, inappropriate or unusual communications, intimate partner violence, and other troubling situations.
  • Evaluate initial reports of alleged workplace violence, contact reporting parties for additional details, if necessary, and enter investigative details in the case management system
  • Develop a comprehensive investigative plan to address reports of workplace violence
  • Conduct timely, thorough, and respectful interviews of witnesses, victims, and subjects, as appropriate, and ensure the results of each interview are properly documented in the investigative case file
  • Obtain, review, and summarize relevant and appropriate internal and publicly available external records
  • Collect sufficient information to determine whether a policy violation has occurred, enable an accurate assessment of risk, and support all investigative conclusions
  • Write professional, thorough, and timely reports to summarize the issues, evidence, and results of each investigation
  • Recommend immediate and longer-term actions to assist affected persons and mitigate the risk of harm to individuals and the company
  • Conduct every aspect of each investigation in strict compliance with all company policies and investigative guidelines and procedures
  • Ensure investigative case files are complete and all required investigative metrics are promptly captured or reported
  • Assist with Executive Protection services when required.
  • Securely preserve all physical evidence to support prosecution or other resolution in cases investigated.
  • Partners with Enterprise Learning to deliver Bancorp Security training.
  • Appear in court and Grand Jury proceedings as necessary to present testimony, evidence or otherwise effect and complete prosecution in cases investigated.
