Your role on the team: (job description) Structures, drafts, and negotiates complex commercial agreements and contracts.  Advises executives within the company and works alongside employees in the Contract Logistics, Transportation Management, and international business units in addition to Corporate Support functions.  Advises executive team on contract statuses and legal risks in new commercial ventures.  Manages various projects and deadlines.  Provides training and development support to Paralegals within the department.  Maintains strong working knowledge of legislative changes that may affect company, customers, and/or affiliates.  Performs pre-litigation work to minimize risks and maximize legal rights.  Effectively communicates legal risks with executive staff.

Requirements

  • Membership in good standing with at least one state bar required.
  • Must be able to practice law in at least one state.
  • 5+ years of legal experience as a transactional attorney, preferably with experience in commercial transactions 
  • PC literate with a command of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.

  • Ability to write detailed reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
