The Sr. Consumer Insights Manager role involves leading the synthesis of consumer, shopper, category, and competitive insights to define growth opportunities, develop compelling selling stories, guide innovation, serve as an organizational expert on market dynamics, and integrate insights across various teams to influence key business decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in packaged goods/CPG marketing or a relevant business environment.
  • Experience with syndicated data sources
  • Ability to leverage AI to facilitate and expedite workflows.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong data analysis, interpretation, and storytelling skills.
  • Curiosity to ask questions, identify opportunities and execute decisively.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • Highly collaborative, proficient in working with cross-functional teams and all levels of management.

  • MBA preferred.
  • Experience with Circana and Scintilla syndicated data sources.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities; translate data-driven insights into customer-focused solutions.
  • Ability to communicate with focus and brevity with senior leaders and to leverage storytelling and simplicity with retailers.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across functions and levels, influencing teams to achieve results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead synthesis of consumer, shopper, category, and competitive insights to define “where to play” opportunities
  • Identify unmet needs, demand spaces, and growth white space
  • Quantify opportunity sizing and prioritize based on strategic and financial impact
  • Identify and shape development opportunities across primary growth vectors
  • Translate insights into clear strategic choices for brand and category growth including key points of “how to win”
  • Inform annual and long-range strategic planning processes
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales to align on target segments, jobs, occasions, and channels
  • Develop compelling, fact-based enterprise selling stories that equip Sales to win with retailers
  • Connect consumer insights to category growth opportunities for customers
  • Partner closely with Sales and Category Management so they can tailor stories by customer
  • Ensure consistency of messaging across national and customer-specific presentations
  • Lead insight generation to inform and quantify opportunities for innovation
  • Identify high-potential demand pockets rooted in consumer jobs and occasions
  • Provide actionable recommendations on product and brand messaging
  • Ensure key messages align with demand space opportunities
  • Serve as the organization’s expert on consumers, shoppers, and the evolving category landscape
  • Bring forward emerging trends, behaviors, and competitive dynamics
  • Maintain a forward-looking perspective on risks and opportunities
  • Develop deep understanding of key consumer jobs, segments, and usage occasions
  • Translate insights into actionable executional guidance
  • Embed these frameworks across Marketing and Sales teams
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to Brand, Sales Strategy, and Category teams
  • Ensure insights are embedded in key business decisions, not just reported
  • Influence stakeholders to act on insights with clarity and conviction
  • Elevate the role of insights across the organization
  • Champion best practices in insight generation, storytelling, and bias for action
  • Simplify complex data into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned, adapting to evolving business needs.
