We are looking for a Senior Consultant/Resident Engineer to join our team. This is a remote U.S. role requiring EST working hours, reporting to the PS Manager within the Professional Services, Public Sector department. You will assist clients in implementing, setting up, and managing their Zscaler solution throughout the project lifecycle. You’ll serve as a technical anchor, ensuring that Zscaler’s cloud-native security platform is integrated seamlessly to meet the unique demands of our customers.

Requirements

  • This position requires an active US Government Public Trust security clearance. Maintenance of this clearance is a condition of continued employment.
  • 6+ years of experience as a Resident Engineer, Professional Services Consultant, Architect, or Support Engineer
  • Deep familiarity with IPSEC, GRE, HTTP/HTTPS, and DNS protocols, Proxy, SSL Inspection, and authentication systems such as SAML, LDAP, or SCIM
  • Proven experience with systems installation, configuration, and administration of routers, firewalls, IPS/IDS, and various operating systems (macOS, iOS, Android, Linux, Windows)
  • Technical proficiency in network troubleshooting using tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, and Traceroute

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with US Government and DoD/DoW programs and acquisitions
  • Expertise with Zscaler solutions, cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP), and Hypervisors like VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM
  • Relevant industry certifications including CCNP, JNCIP, PCNSA, CISSP, or CCSP

Responsibilities

  • Assess and recommend the configuration and implementation of Zscaler products and solutions while gathering requirements to develop tailored customer strategies
  • Collaborate with the larger Zscaler Professional Services team to ensure the continued success of fellow team members, the organization, and our customers
  • Integrate with customer cyber/network security teams to provide configuration guidance, best practices, and recommendations for environmental integration
  • Lead testing and troubleshooting efforts, escalating critical issues to Zscaler Support, Engineering, and Cloud Operations as necessary
  • Provide regular status reports for incidents and projects, maintaining a willingness to travel and respond to after-hours Severity 1 issues to meet customer goals
