You’ll be working as part of a team helping to drive forwards Fixed Income Trading for the Capital Markets Desk and our various Operations teams, successfully delivering complex, enterprise-scale projects involving multiple back-end systems. As an Application Consultant you will build, implement and maintain flexible, scalable microservice solutions while helping maintain our existing footprint. You’ll lead the planning for the technical design, development and integration of these applications, as well as work with internal teams to identify and set up proper infrastructure. Requirements

  • 7+ years hands-on Java EE development
  • 4+ years Spring / Spring Cloud framework
  • 3 years Technical experience with: 4+ years SQL
  • Hands on experience with RESTful API, MyBatis, Maven and git is strongly desired.
  • Must be able to effectively interact with stakeholders, end users, business analysts, and technical resources.
  • Degree/diploma in Computer Science/Math

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with C++ and perl would be ideal.
  • Previous experience working with Fixed Income Products
  • Adept at managing multiple priorities with concurrent objectives, projects, groups, activities
  • Previously worked with a Capital Markets Trade Floor based client group.
  • Experience in MS Azure or other cloud environment would also be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and coordinate complex application programming activities.
  • Design the application's technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches.
  • Working on the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions within the Fixed Income group of CIBC’s Capital Markets Technology division.
  • Lead multiple complex projects involving backend systems, new technology, and the enhancement of existing applications.
  • Support and mentor intermediate developers by sharing knowledge, collaborating and problem solving.
