About The Position

GFT is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to join our Construction Services Team in Fairfax. This role offers relocation assistance due to the multi-year nature of the project. Requirements

  • A minimum of 20 years demonstrated experience in project management, construction management, business, or related field managing large projects.
  • Experience in Wastewater Treatment Plant CM or Construction.
  • PE mandatory

  • CCM preferred
  • Program Management experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-bid services such as review of bid documents, constructability reviews, and cost estimates.
  • Assistance during the bidding phase.
  • Process shop drawings and other contractors’ deliverables.
  • Assistance in the construction change management to include negotiations and preparation of change orders.
  • Resident engineering and inspection services.
  • Construction schedule review and analysis.
  • Quality assurance.
  • Material testing.
  • Maintenance of project files.
  • Participation in value engineering studies and support with Envision process.
  • Claims avoidance, analysis and resolution.
  • Utility services coordination during construction.
  • Manage/coordinate the impact of construction on plant’s operation.
  • Commissioning services to include SCADA services, startup.
  • Project closeout and post-construction services.
  • Other services related to the completion of construction and operation of the facility.
  • Other professional services as requested by the County.
  • Construction management field office support – office rental, maintenance.
  • Assistance with alternative delivery methods.
  • Support County safety personnel to ensure safety compliance by implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental plans, conducting site safety audits, and coordinating with contractors to mitigate hazards.
  • Permitting support and coordination.
