About The Position

Amazon Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics. Lab126 began in 2004 as a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., originally creating the best-selling Kindle family of products. Since then, we have produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV and Amazon Echo. As a Sr. Connectivity Systems Engineer, you will define wireless architecture for consumer electronics devices, define key performance metrics and drive modeling efforts to predict end-to-end system performance, and perform gap analysis and system performance optimization across radio, PHY, MAC, firmware and software.

Requirements

  • Experience in communication theory, OFDM, MIMO, Digital/Wireless Communication Systems or RF engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Experience in Wi-Fi/BT/BLE/ZigBee/WAN/GPS/UWB or NFC
  • Experience with scripting languages and simulation tools such as Python/MatLab, and etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience developing PHY/MAC layer HW/SW targeting SoCs, FPGAs, and general-purpose processors
  • Experience in wireless system design and architecture, system integration, and RF system analysis
  • Experience in RFIC or Custom wireless chipset development

Responsibilities

  • Define wireless architecture for consumer electronics devices

  • Perform gap analysis and system performance optimization across radio, PHY, MAC, firmware and software.
