Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB), construction estimating, or technical sales is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience working with internal technical services/engineering teams, as well as external customers, contractors, and architects, is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to support or drive project-based sales, including customer follow-up, scope alignment, and closing support.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specification documents (CSI format) is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, coupled with attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Equivalent industry experience in pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB), construction, or technical sales will be strongly considered.
  • Demonstrated experience working with complex projects such as cranes, mezzanines, multi-building systems, hangars, or plan & spec work is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to influence project outcomes, pricing, and customer decisions is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with metal building design software (MBS preferred) or similar estimating/design tools is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Excel for takeoffs, markups, and pricing analysis is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of IBC and general building code principles is preferred.
  • Sales experience in the metal building industry is highly preferred.
  • Ability to travel on a periodic basis as needed to support customers, projects, and internal collaboration.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of formal degree requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Co-own complex opportunities from intake through close
  • Drive follow-up cadence and support closing strategy through pricing alignment and scope clarity
  • Gather and apply market feedback (pricing, competitors, lead times)
  • Contribute to achieving team sales, margin, and win rate objectives
  • Interpret architectural drawings, specs, and customer requirements
  • Perform takeoffs and develop accurate, qualified proposals
  • Ensure scopes are clear, complete, and protect the company from risk
  • Optimize building design for cost, constructability, and competitiveness
  • Act as a direct customer-facing resource alongside branch sales
  • Build relationships with contractors, architects, and end users
  • Lead or support project review discussions and order reviews
  • Provide consultative guidance on building systems and design decisions
  • Identify and resolve engineering warnings prior to submission
  • Reduce unnecessary engineering cycles and protect turnaround times
  • Collaborate with Technical Services on complex designs and edge cases
  • Train and actively coach branch sales to improve project qualification, scope development, follow-up discipline, and effective utilization of Complex Projects
  • Provide feedback loops to improve sales quality and efficiency
  • Partner with Project Coordinators to manage change orders, customer communication, and expectation alignment throughout design, detailing, and fabrication
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining responsiveness, accuracy, and timeline commitments
