About The Position

This position is for a Sr. Commodity Manager - Composites within the Collins Aerospace Operations team. The role involves leading a team of intermediate to experienced Commodity / Account Management & Strategic Sourcing professionals, setting objectives, and guiding them in executing and implementing supply chain strategy. The manager is responsible for developing and improving commodity management and sourcing processes to enhance price, quality, timing, and reliability outcomes. The Collins Aerospace Operations team focuses on managing innovative products from inception to delivery, strengthening the connection of Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, and Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) across the company, and improving productivity, quality, and efficiency worldwide.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • 5+ years of commodity management experience
  • 3+ years experienced negotiating contracts

Responsibilities

  • Manages execution of commodity / account management and sourcing strategy.
  • Implements supply chain strategies.
  • Develops supplier selection process, meeting the organization’s standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.
  • Negotiates awards contracts within specified spending limits, and develops/approves new qualified sources of supply.
  • Manages sourcing strategies, shares best practices, and defines acceptable service levels.
  • Manages supplier negotiations, analyzes suppliers' operations, and recommends the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
  • Validates accuracy of price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices.
  • Develops a strategic plan for a commodity or a strategic supplier.
  • Responsible for overall relationship with one or multiple strategic accounts across a given commodity.
  • Leads sourcing process from RFQ to contract signature.
  • Ensures supplier or commodity is performing to the designed UTC requirements from delivery, quality and cost perspective.
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time
