About The Position

As a Senior Machinist, you will use mills, lathes, mill-turns, Swiss machines, and other production machinery to manufacture close-tolerance parts for medical products. The role focuses on setting up and operating production equipment, verifying and validating new setups for production, and performing first-piece runs and inspections.

Requirements

• Meet two of the following: 2–4 years of experience operating advanced CNC production equipment; successful completion of the Senior Machinist Assessment; or current employment as a CONMED CNC Senior Machinist.
• Ability to produce parts at maximum rates with zero defects.
• Ability to optimize processes through continuous improvement efforts.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret G and M codes.

Responsibilities

• Set up advanced CNC machinery, including 4- and 5-axis mills, Swiss machines, and lathes with live tooling.
• Operate advanced multi-axis CNC equipment, tools, and accessories to fabricate and cut materials for component parts.
• Maintain close-tolerance dimensions while producing parts at established operation rates.
• Verify and validate new setup programs for new products or pre-production parts.
• Perform in-process and first-piece inspections.
• Adjust offsets on multi-axis equipment to ensure products conform to strict tolerances.
• Provide training and technical guidance to less experienced employees.
