About The Position

As a Senior Machinist, you will use mills, lathes, mill-turns, Swiss machines, and other production machinery to make close-tolerance parts for medical products. A major focus is setting up and operating production machinery and verifying and validating new setups for production and first-piece runs. The role also includes maintaining strict tolerances, inspecting parts, adjusting equipment, and providing technical training to less experienced employees.

Requirements

• Meet two of the following: have 2–4 years of experience operating advanced CNC production equipment; successfully complete the Senior Machinist Assessment; or be currently employed as a CONMED CNC Senior Machinist.
• Be able to produce parts at maximum rates with zero defects.
• Be able to read, understand, and interpret G and M codes.

Responsibilities

• Set up advanced CNC machinery, including 4- and 5-axis mills, Swiss machines, and lathes with live tooling.
• Operate advanced multi-axis CNC equipment, tools, and accessories to fabricate and cut materials for component parts.
• Maintain close-tolerance dimensions while producing parts at established operation rates.
• Verify and validate new setup programs for new products or pre-production parts.
• Perform in-process and first-piece inspections.
• Adjust offsets on multi-axis equipment to ensure products meet strict tolerances.
• Provide training and technical training to less experienced employees.
• Optimize processes through continuous improvement efforts.
