About The Position

Forge requires a Cloud Engineer to support Azure environments for customers in our Rapid Capabilities practice. This position will work closely with the government and other partners to provide expertise and support with building, deploying, and maintaining cloud computing environments supporting critical programs.

  • US Citizen (authorization to work is insufficient)
  • 10+ years of professional experience managing, developing, and deploying cloud environment infrastructure
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash and Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Information Technology, or equivalent
  • At least one active Associate level or higher AWS or Azure certification required; Security+CE Certification;
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, proposals, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based on that data.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and successful completion of the cARMY migration to the Azure cloud environment, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements.
  • Design, implement, and optimize Azure infrastructure, services, and deployment architectures to support cARMY applications and workloads.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to manage migration activities, dependencies, risks, and project timelines.
  • Develop and execute migration strategies, including application modernization, data migration, testing, validation, and cutover planning.
  • Establish and maintain Azure security, governance, compliance, monitoring, and disaster recovery capabilities in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Provide technical leadership, documentation, knowledge transfer, and post-migration support to ensure operational stability and continuous improvement of the Azure environment.
