As a Sr. Cloud Engineer III, you will be a key player in architecting, designing, and implementing cloud solutions that empower our clients to leverage the full potential of cloud technologies. You will be responsible for the development of a robust and scalable cloud infrastructure, serve as a technical mentor who guides, supports and accelerates the professional growth of junior engineers, all while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery to the missions. Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance.
  • Certification to satisfy DoD 8140/8570 (e.g. Security+ or above).
  • 10+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role, with demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and deploying AWS cloud infrastructure solutions at scale across multiple classification domains (IL5/IL6+).
  • Experience with AWS microservices and cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, EBS, etc.).
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (CloudFormation or Terraform, Ansible).
  • Experience creating, managing, and hardening desktop OS images in the cloud (e.g., AMIs) across multiple classification domains.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining cloud security controls and AWS security best practices (e.g., IAM least privilege, data encryption, and network isolation) to protect enterprise infrastructure.
  • Experience with cloud identity services using enterprise IAM platforms and SSO solutions (e.g., AWS IAM Identity Center, Okta, Entra ID).
  • Experience with automation and configuration management (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Fundamental knowledge of orchestration and containerized workloads (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with a track record of delivering innovative solutions to complex cloud challenges and clearly conveying technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and implementation of cloud-based architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security in alignment with industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, and optimize cloud infrastructure.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to a team of cloud engineers, reviewing their work, and helping them solve complex technical challenges.
  • Engage with stakeholders to translate technical requirements into actionable solutions, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and stay current on evolving cloud technologies and compliance standards.
  • Provide requirement decomposition/definition and engineering expertise to assure program requirements are developed and sustained.
  • Prepare operating instructions and end user training.
  • Develop and implement cloud governance strategies, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Lead efforts to automate deployment, monitoring, and management processes, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual intervention.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on cloud engineering best practices, participating in knowledge sharing and contributing to the company's technical community.
  • Participate in all phases of risk management assessments and architecture.
