The Work: Administer over 30 AWS RDS databases running Oracle, PostgreSQL, MSFT SQL Server, and MySQL in multiple AWS accounts. Perform many related database functions across one or more teams or clients, including account management, AWS Data migration services (DMS) design and implementation for inter-database synchronization, backup/recovery, disaster recovery testing, and configuration management. Manage database management systems (DBMS) on AWS and provide input for modification of procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day maintenance.

Requirements

  • Advanced AWS RDS Experience with Oracle, Postgres, MySQL, and MS SQL Servers that includes but not limited to:
  • Deploying multi-AZ RDS systems with high performance
  • Performance tuning with AWS Performance Insights
  • Integrating Oracle Enterprise Manager for performance monitoring
  • Designing AWS Data Migration Services jobs for data synch between databases
  • Database Encryption at rest and in transit
  • Configuring the parameter groups
  • Managing IP traffic using a security group
  • Auditing the database log files
  • Maintenance and management activities
  • Planning backup and recovery strategies
  • User management
  • Monitoring the database
  • Be able to report to client site in Washington DC 5 days a week
  • US – Citizen
  • Top Secret Clearance
