About The Position

The Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University is seeking applications for clinical track faculty to advance its teaching and scholarship mission. The school is committed to attracting world-class faculty to educate visionary nurse leaders and scholars, generate and apply knowledge, and transform nursing, health, and systems of health care. This position is for doctorally-prepared individuals with experience as nurse educators and a focused area of educational or clinical scholarship. The role involves teaching across a wide array of clinical areas at the pre-licensure level and requires certification and current or recent practice as advanced practice registered nurses (APRN’s). Priority will be given to individuals who can teach across programs and/or have demonstrated expertise as educators in higher education. As part of the Robert W. Woodruff Health Sciences Center, the School of Nursing is a nationally ranked leader in nursing education and practice, offering programs across the spectrum of nursing education and other health professions. Clinical track faculty will engage in collaborative relationships with Emory’s interdisciplinary initiatives in Cardiovascular Health, Data Science, Omics and Genetics/Genomics, Neuroscience, and Palliative Care, as well as with other institutions like Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia State University, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Appointments can be made as Clinical Instructor, Senior Clinical, Assistant Clinical Professor, Associate Clinical Professor, or Full Clinical Professor, based on academic and clinical credentials and teaching experience. Candidates for Associate Professor or Professor must have an established track record as an educator with demonstrated excellence in teaching and research/scholarship, and a track record of peer-reviewed publication is required for ranked faculty titles. Nurses must hold or be eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia.

Requirements

  • Doctorally-prepared.
  • Experience as a nurse educator.
  • Focused area of educational or clinical scholarship.
  • Certification and current or recent practice as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN).
  • Must hold or be eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia (for nurses).
  • Provide current CV, cover letter describing specific interest, and contact information for three references.
