About The Position

Serves as the primary contributor and consultant for patient care services in the planning, design, development, implementation, functionality, and evaluation of integrated clinical information systems that support and enhance clinical practice, administrative and management needs, and patient outcomes. Acts as the principal resource with clinical knowledge and computer expertise to coordinate and provide support for all new and current applications and software upgrades applicable to the clinical systems. Responsible for the analysis, design, testing, and implementation of complex clinical information systems and solutions. Prepares detailed specifications. Conducts assessments of the clinical environment, identifies implications for system implementations, and acts as a facilitator for those changes. Advises on end-user training for clinical applications to ensure understanding of functionality, as well as the development and design of training programs. The duties of this position are performed under the general review and supervision of clinical applications staff and management. A majority of assignments are completed independently, subject to periodic review and approval by senior clinical applications staff and managers. Competent to work at the highest technical level across most phases of systems analysis while considering the clinical implications of applying technology to the current and future clinical environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Healthcare, Nursing, Pharmacy, or an Allied Health field
  • 4 years of experience in Information Technology (preferably within Clinical Operations) and/or a clinical setting
  • Combination of both clinical and IT experience is strongly preferred
  • Hands-on build experience
