About The Position

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. The Leo team is looking for a Senior Category Sourcing Manager to support business and engineering stakeholders in selecting, developing and managing business relationships with critical technology and service suppliers, and others as needed to execute on Leo objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • 6+ years of high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience
  • 6+ years of data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of related industry experience
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience in global supply chain management, managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced consumer electronics product company
  • Experience in program, project or product management, or leading product implementation
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience in negotiations with global suppliers with a proven track record in cost reduction
  • Experience in procurement practices working with engineering, supply chain and Tier 1 OEM partners
  • Experience practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, or equivalent)

Responsibilities

  • Managing dispenser and release mechanism providers
  • Executing global sourcing and supplier engagement strategies
  • Negotiating long-term commercial agreements and statements of work
  • Driving supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery, and technical execution
  • Operating effectively in a highly visible, fast-paced environment with significant executive exposure
  • International supplier engagement
  • Leading cross-functional initiatives involving engineering, quality, operations, manufacturing, and program leadership
  • Solving complex challenges in ambiguous environments
