Dover is a diversified global manufacturer and solutions provider with annual revenue of approximately $8 billion Overall Scope: A Senior Category Manager executes a business strategy that delivers value through total cost of ownership solutions and helps ensure that Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS) has a reliable supply chain. This is accomplished by managing risks and costs through leveraging DFS and Dover’s requirements worldwide. This is a full-time hybrid role, and will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as category management, analytical skills application, contract negotiation, procurement, and sales activities. This role is to support our Electronics and EV charger technologies. It will coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations to add value and satisfy both internal and external customers. Reporting directly to the Director of Supply Chain, you will lead the global sourcing strategy for critical electronic categories and manage high-tier Contract Manufacturing (EMS) relationships. This role requires a heavy focus on the lifecycle of Single Board Computers (SBC) and Industrial PCs (IPC), ensuring component availability across all global regions and driving profitability through strategic Oracle-based data management and VAVE initiatives. Global Category Leadership: Define and execute the multi-year sourcing strategy for CPUs, DRAM, SSDs, and high-value components, ensuring alignment across regional supply chains. EMS & Box Build Management: Act as the primary point of contact for EMS partners globally, overseeing PCBA through full Box Build assembly, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery KPIs are met. Advanced Allocation Planning: Manage complex component allocation and buffer stock strategies to mitigate global supply risks and lead time volatility. Margin & VAVE Initiatives: Lead Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) workshops to identify cost-out opportunities and drive margin expansion through technical optimization and competitive bidding. Oracle Integration: Utilize Oracle ERP to manage procurement data, track spend analytics, and maintain accurate BOM costs and supplier performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, or related areas, which is preferred. 1.5 years of experience may be used in lieu of 1 year of education.
  • 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or supply chain management.
  • 5+ years of experience managing printed circuit board (PCB) commodity and/or electronic components.
  • Expert knowledge of the semiconductor market (CPU/Memory/Storage) and the complexities of full-system box assembly.
  • Experience with supplier negotiation, purchasing agreements, or development agreements.
  • Skills to analyze supplier financial information and capability.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Access to best industry practices, industry trends, and supply/demand and a thorough understanding of products.
  • Excellent oral and written communication is required. Influencing skills are preferred.
  • Proficient w/ MS Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time (long international flights)

Responsibilities

  • Serves our customers (Operations, Engineering, Finance, Sales, and End Customers) and assures cost-competitive continuity of supply for existing parts and services as well as new product development and introduction.
  • Develop, negotiate, and administer contracts for key suppliers; manage supplier base.
  • Develop commodity strategies based on DFS volumes, Dover volumes, or volumes of future acquisitions.
  • Identify areas of risk within the supply chain; implement appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Maintain knowledge of market industry trends within the area of expertise and communicate the potential impact on business.
  • Monitor changes affecting supply and demand; track market conditions, price trends, and futures markets.
  • Monitor supplier market characteristics regularly; identify opportunities resulting from market shifts and take advantage of such shifts.
  • Work with all functions and users to ensure internal customer needs are met
  • Manage supplier performance (quality, delivery, total cost)
  • Maintain overall supplier relationships and establish annual cost-out, quality, and on-time delivery targets with key suppliers. Provide regular performance feedback to suppliers, as well as quality business reviews (QBRs), and drive corrective actions as required.
  • Enforce terms and conditions of purchase orders and other agreements and compliance with legal requirements and Company policy. Make sure parts are set up properly, supplier master, etc., and in the ERP system.
  • Resolve nonconformance issues, back-charges, and claims in a timely manner to minimize the Company's exposure.
  • Develop supplier spending reports to identify targeted improvements and leverage value for the company.
  • Seeks opportunities to expand diverse supplier spend.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement events with suppliers; improve total cost of ownership.
  • Manage cost and assets (cost, productivity, inventory)
  • Implement sourcing design changes to improve reliability in operations and reductions in costs.
  • Work with operations and business teams to design optimal source points and shipping arrangements.
  • Operate on a daily basis to meet reliability objectives for customer supply
  • Works with the Operations team to maximize value across the supply chain and drive a culture of continual improvement.
