The Sr. Buyer is responsible for tactical procurement, inventory control, and supplier management for the assigned suppliers. The Senior Buyer will lead initiatives to improve supplier on-time delivery performance, optimize inventory levels, and reduce total cost while ensuring continuity of supply and supporting operational objectives. This position reports to the Sr. Materials Manager and is part of the Materials Team located in DeLand, Florida and will be an on-site role In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Lead demand, inventory, and supplier performance analysis to support strategic purchasing decisions and ensure continuity of supply. Own and oversee the complete purchase order lifecycle, including exception management, supplier follow-up, and GR/IR resolution. Develop strategic supplier partnerships and lead negotiations, delivery recovery efforts, and cost reduction initiatives. Lead data-driven problem solving to resolve material shortages, inventory imbalances, and supply chain disruptions. Represent Materials Management in cross-functional initiatives, driving continuous improvement, Kanban deployment, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years in a buyer/planning function; OR Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience; OR high school diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working in supply chain or logistics with various external and internal suppliers to ensured delivery or completion of materials priorities and expedited if needed.
  • Work cross functionally with internal departments to ensure materials continuity, drive improvement and lead other initiatives in order to drive maximizing our customer experience
  • Solid understanding of supply chain management principles, including demand & supply forecasting, inventory management, and lot restrictions.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency using Excel and ERP systems (SAP is a plus)
  • Knowledge of lean six sigma and of planning “best practices” including, but not limited to Supplier PULL Systems, Vendor Manage Inventory, Lean Daily Management, and lean improvement events
  • Demonstrated experience in developing supplier relationship and driving implementation of optimal purchasing patterns.
