About The Position

As part of a leading global aerospace distributor, the Sr. Buyer is directly responsible for supply chain functions supporting day-to-day business and strategic long-term planning. The role involves working in an aviation ERP system and using an advanced business intelligence system to plan, forecast, and purchase materials required for distribution. It calls for a detail-oriented, self-starting professional with strong computer and analytical skills.

The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant or technical work experience, or an additional 3 years of specific work experience in lieu of a degree.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, strong Excel skills, and experience with Microsoft PowerBI or another business intelligence tool.
• Knowledge of Component Control Quantum.
• Strong critical-thinking and analytical skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Effective time management and the ability to identify and prioritize tasks to meet long- and short-term objectives.
• Statistical analysis and modeling skills.
• Team-oriented, resourceful, and a fast learner.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree.
• 9 or more years of buyer work experience.
• PowerBI or another business intelligence tool license.

Responsibilities

• Create purchase orders for vendors in the ERP system and ensure accurate information flows into PowerBI.
• Continuously follow up on open orders to verify accuracy and need.
• Compare supplier prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid.
• Lead aspects of strategic sourcing, including preparing Statements of Work and Requests for Proposals, evaluating proposals, conducting price and cost analysis, negotiating contracts, managing vendors, and administering contracts.
• Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and the departments that originated the requests.
• Negotiate and settle supplier matters involving damage claims, rejections, losses, material returns, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering change orders.
• Oversee and/or conduct supplier site visits as necessary.
• Assist with ERP system optimization to produce appropriate inputs into PowerBI.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
