About The Position

Grocery Outlet is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to oversee procurement strategies, manage strategic vendor relationships, and develop supply chain capacities. This role involves negotiating optimal pricing and terms, mentoring the purchasing team to align with corporate financial goals, and managing DSD Order Guides in the Power HQ system. The Senior Buyer will also lead cross-functional collaboration and ensure understanding of state laws and policies relevant to sales.

Requirements

10+ years of procurement experience.
5+ years of DSD Experience.
5+ years of experience using and analyzing syndicated data to optimize business performance.
Experience conducting RFP campaigns and managing complex sourcing scenarios.
Experience leading a team, defining team and individual goals, sharing best practices, and developing talent.
Ability to influence decisions and skilled negotiator.
Well organized, detail oriented and have good follow-through.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize sales, margin, quality, and supplier relationships.
Evaluate, select, and monitor supplier relationships, and develop new sources of suppliers.
Develop merchandising and marketing plans to drive customer engagement and a commercial plan for driving sales.
Manage DSD Order Guides in the Power HQ system, ensuring pricing and UPC data accuracy.
Guide, train, and oversee buyers, associates, and assistants.
Lead efforts to align and inspire cross-functional partners across Operations, Store Operations, Marketing, and IT.
Have a deep understanding of the State Laws and Policies of various states we sell in.
