About The Position

The Sr BI Analytics Developer is responsible for generating ad hoc reports and regular datasets or report information for end-users using system tools and database or data warehouse queries and scripts. This role involves integrating data from multiple sources to produce requested or required data elements. Additionally, the Sr BI Analytics Developer supports and contributes to the enterprise business or engineering application strategy, oversees and contributes to the configuration, upgrade, and long-term operation of software, and directs the operation and maintenance of software architecture and environments to support the IT needs of the business. This position also involves continuously assessing and improving processes to enhance service quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction, as well as collaborating with external vendors and service providers. In this role, you will generate ad hoc reports and regular datasets or provide report information for end-users by utilizing system tools and creating database or data warehouse queries and scripts. You will integrate data from multiple sources to produce requested or required data elements while supporting and contributing to the enterprise business or engineering application strategy. Additionally, you will oversee and contribute to the configuration, upgrade, and long-term operation of software, as well as direct the operation and maintenance of software architecture and environments to meet the IT needs of the business. A key part of your responsibilities will be to continuously assess and improve processes to enhance service quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction, while identifying areas for improvement, developing improvement plans, and leading their implementation. You will collaborate with external vendors and service providers to define contracted services and ensure they meet the agreed-upon requirements of the business. Depending on the scope of the role, you may act as an individual contributor or supervise, mentor, and coach other business systems analysts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree or Masters +6 yrs experience).
  • Typically 8+ years of related experience.
  • Certification: varies by business system.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IT systems, software configuration, CI/CD, engineering, and/or business processes.
  • Proficiency in software environments and upgrades.
  • Expert in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Report Builder with deep understanding of the use and development of Semantic Models and refresh strategies.

  • Advanced experience with SQL and database management.
  • Extensive knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools.
  • Expertise in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex data sets.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar for data analysis and automation.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Proven track record of leading data projects and driving business impact through data insights.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and quality.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching junior team members.
