About The Position

The Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for driving referral and revenue growth within an assigned territory through disciplined execution of the district strategy. SBDMs partner with sales and field operations leadership to complete market analyses, align strategy, and generate referral growth and volume. SBDMs are expected to serve as the field-sales leader for strategic accounts and complex growth opportunities in their aligned markets. The position drives sales results through key growth channels, targeted development events, and overall pod performance. Additionally, the Senior BDM serves as a Pod Leader, responsible for driving performance across a small team of BDMs and BDAs. This role will serve as ‘captain’ of the sales pod, and support sales management recruit, onboard, and train new hires – and provide ongoing oversight and leadership. The SBDM position requires individual production, team coordination, and local strategic leadership to achieve market objectives.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or 2 years of equivalent experience in exercise science, physiology, sports/performance training or kinesiology
  • 6+ years sales of healthcare sales experience
  • Maintain valid state driver’s license
  • Strategic Execution – Align pod activity to highest-value opportunities within market strategy
  • Business Development & Prospecting – Identify and pursue high-value, complex opportunities
  • Relationship Management – Build executive-level relationships across strategic accounts
  • Consultative Selling – Lead solution-based selling across complex stakeholder environments
  • Negotiation & Execution – Navigate multi-stakeholder deals and close strategic opportunities
  • Performance & Accountability – Drive both individual quota and pod-level performance
  • Collaboration & Influence – Coordinate efforts across BDMs, BDAs, and internal stakeholders
  • Operational Discipline – Maintain high-quality pipeline and execution consistency across pod
  • Coaching & Talent Development – Mentor and guide BDMs and BDAs within pod
  • Market & Business Acumen – Identify whitespace and growth opportunities within assigned markets
  • Occasional local and regional travel required
