Sr Business Analyst

NRGVIRTUAL, WA
$150,000 - $180,000

About The Position

Vivint Smart Home is hiring a Senior Business Analyst to join the central analytics team within our product organization. This role is responsible for turning data into clear, actionable insight that shapes product decisions and drives business outcomes. You will own the design, development, and maintenance of the core metrics and reporting that the product organization depends on. This includes dashboards, recurring analyses, and deep dives that inform how we build, prioritize, and improve our products. This role sits at the center of the product, engineering, and data ecosystem. You will work closely with engineering teams to transform raw and unstructured data into reliable, structured datasets that can be used for reporting and decision making. You will also partner with product and business leaders to identify opportunities, define analytical approaches, and deliver recommendations that move the business forward. This is a role for someone who is comfortable working in ambiguity, can independently drive analysis from problem definition through recommendation, and takes ownership for the quality and impact of their work.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a data or analytics role where you were responsible for driving insight and supporting business decisions.
  • Fluent in SQL and comfortable working with large, complex datasets.
  • Experience with Python and modern data visualization tools such as Tableau or QuickSight is expected.
  • Highly analytical and able to take an ambiguous question and turn it into a structured analysis with clear outcomes.
  • Understand how data is generated and stored across systems, and can work effectively with engineering partners to improve data quality and availability.
  • Comfortable working across teams and can translate between technical and business audiences without losing clarity.
  • Communicate clearly in both written and verbal form, and can present findings in a way that builds confidence and drives action.
  • Strong sense of ownership and are motivated to improve how quickly and effectively the organization can get to insight, including through the use of emerging tools and AI.

Responsibilities

  • Own the core reporting and analytics that support decision making across the product organization, ensuring metrics are well defined, trusted, and consistently used.
  • Design and build dashboards and reporting that provide clear visibility into product performance, customer behavior, and operational efficiency.
  • Validate data across new and existing tools, working closely with engineering and data teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Partner with engineering to help shape how data is captured, structured, and made available, translating unstructured inputs into usable datasets that can support reporting at scale.
  • Identify and execute analyses that uncover areas of opportunity, going beyond surface level trends to understand root causes and drivers.
  • Synthesize large volumes of data into clear insights and written recommendations, and communicate those findings to stakeholders in a way that drives alignment and action.
  • Work with product managers and business leaders to understand their goals and questions, translate those into analytical requirements, and deliver outputs that directly inform decisions.
  • Manage analytical work streams end-to-end, including scoping, data acquisition, modeling, and delivery, while ensuring timelines and priorities stay on track.
  • Contribute to the evolution of our analytics platform by improving how reports are built, scaled, and maintained over time.
