And you will do it all in a collaborative environment that values your insight, encourages you to take on new responsibility, promotes continuous learning, and rewards innovation. Why join the Network? Crown Jewel Investment: The Network is a core strategic focus of the Discover acquisition, receiving significant top of house backing and investment to drive growth. Rethinking How We Work: As the Network modernizes, there is a massive opportunity to rethink our core business processes—finding ways to eliminate friction, work more efficiently together, and leverage modern technology and AI. High-Visibility Impact: Because the Network is evolving rapidly, you will get early, direct exposure to high-priority initiatives that shape how the broader organization operates. Greenfield Operating Model Work: Rather than simply maintaining existing routines, you will help evaluate and design how we organize, prioritize, and execute to support multi-billion-dollar scale. What does this team do and where does it sit? Team Placement: You will sit within the Network Strategy & Brand organization on a dedicated "SWAT Pod". The team is a flexible problem-solving pod working directly with the head of the Network and the Network Leadership Team on urgent, cross-functional challenges. Core Operating Model Focus: You will help bring structure to three areas: Structure (roles and strategic intent ownership), Process (cross-cutting workflows and governance), and People (skills, job families, and geo strategy). Bridging Strategy to Execution: The goal isn't just writing strategy decks—it’s doing the analytical and alignment work needed to get business leaders on the same page and move projects into action. What will you gain / Why take this role? Executive Exposure: You will regularly frame options, lead working sessions, and align recommendations directly with members of the Network Leadership Team. Broad Payments & Network Domain Knowledge: You will get a crash course in how a global network functions—getting into the details of commercial models, risk interactions, and product prioritization. Strong Launchpad for Future Roles: Working across the entire Network gives you a rare, end-to-end perspective on the business, making this a great stepping stone into future business, strategy, or operational roles across the Network. Sharper White-Space Problem-Solving: You will build a strong toolkit for taking messy, unstructured business problems and turning them into clear, actionable decision frameworks. What are the types of projects you will work on? White-Space Problem Solving & Workflow Mapping: Analyzing how work moves across teams—identifying operational friction points, untangling complex hand-offs, and defining clear ownership for core processes and strategic goals. Fact-Based Analysis & Leadership Alignment: Running qualitative and quantitative analyses, conducting stakeholder interviews, and synthesizing options into crisp, decision-ready recommendations to present to senior leadership for alignment. Capacity & Operational Readiness Modeling: Assessing organizational capability, required skill sets, location strategy, and enablement needs to ensure the Network is resourced to execute on recommendations and scale efficiently.
