Sr Business Analyst, Fiber Market & Regional Performance

T-MobileTX-Remote, IL
$80,600 - $145,500Onsite

About The Position

At T-Mobile, we invest in YOU! Our Total Rewards Package ensures that employees get the same big love we give our customers. All team members receive a competitive base salary and compensation package - this is Total Rewards. Employees enjoy multiple wealth-building opportunities through our annual stock grant, employee stock purchase plan, 401(k), and access to free, year-round money coaches. That’s how we’re UNSTOPPABLE for our employees! T-Fiber is growing fast. As our Sr. Analyst, Business Intelligence, you'll be the person who turns raw market data into a clear, honest story about how we're performing and, more importantly, why. This isn't a reporting-only role. You'll dig into penetration rates, add rates, churn, preorder cancel rates, and competitive dynamics to surface the insights that drive real decisions. You'll report to the Sr. Commercial Marketing Manager and work closely with Fiber business leaders. You'll own the data, build the analysis, and prepare the executive-ready presentation — your manager or a business leader will deliver it, but the clarity and credibility of that story starts with you. T-Fiber is T-Mobile's push into fixed broadband — and we're moving fast. You won't be maintaining a legacy reporting stack. You'll be building the analytical foundation of a growing business, working with data that directly shapes how we compete across markets. If you want ownership, visibility, and the chance to see your work influence real decisions, this is the role.

Requirements

  • Prioritization and organization: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver under tight timelines in a fast-paced environment. You'll juggle recurring reports, ad hoc requests, and long-horizon analysis simultaneously — often all at once
  • Independent execution: We're a lean team. You'll be expected to self-direct, identify what needs to get done, and do it
  • Data analysis and interpretation: Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret trends across penetration, conversion, churn, and subscriber growth drivers. The job is finding what the data means, not just what it says
  • Business problem identification: Strong business acumen and understanding of go-to-market performance levers. We need someone who spots the issue before being asked, not after
  • Communication across levels: Ability to translate complex datasets into clear, compelling executive narratives. Your work goes to operators and executives — you need to code-switch between technical depth and plain language
  • Excel: Pivot tables, large dataset modeling, performance trending — this is a daily tool
  • Power BI / Tableau / QuickSight: Your primary visualization stack — proficiency in at least two is expected
  • Performance modeling: Building models that answer 'what happens if...' questions around market performance — not just documenting what happened
  • Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of related work experience OR Advanced degree with 3 years of related experience; acceptable areas of study include Business, Statistics, Economics, Data Analytics or similar degree
  • 4 years of data analysis, business intelligence, or performance reporting experience
  • 4 years of SQL experience with performant querying of large datasets
  • 4 years of Tableau (or similar BI tool) dashboard development and data visualization
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience building presentations or reports for a senior or executive-level audience, and contributing to executive-level business reviews
  • Experience working with large-scale data environments (e.g., AWS Redshift, Azure, Databricks)
  • Experience analyzing telecommunications, broadband, or subscription-based businesses
  • Familiarity with competitive intelligence, market demographics, or socioeconomic data sources
  • Background in a startup or high-growth environment where ambiguity is the norm
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Travel Required (Yes/No): Yes, up to 30% travel is required on a quarterly basis

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain recurring performance reports covering penetration, add rate, churn rate, and preorder cancel rate across all active markets
  • Track performance vs. targets and clearly communicate where we're winning, where we're not, and what's driving the gap
  • Prepare clean, executive-ready readouts that translate complex data into a simple narrative leaders can act on
  • Maintain and evolve dashboards that give stakeholders real-time visibility into market health
  • Go beyond the numbers — layer in demographic, socioeconomic, and competitive data to explain the why behind performance trends
  • Identify underperforming markets early and provide context on root causes (competitive pressure, build maturity, pricing, demographics, etc.)
  • Run ad hoc analysis as business questions emerge, including A/B testing, market segmentation, and opportunity sizing
  • Collaborate with business partners to validate findings and pressure-test assumptions before they reach leadership
  • Extract, transform, and analyze data from internal sources using SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Amazon QuickSight, and Excel
  • Build performance models and scenario analysis using Excel — pivot tables, trend modeling, and large dataset manipulation
  • Develop and standardize reporting templates that the team can rely on and replicate
  • Engage early on new initiatives to define data and reporting requirements before systems are built
  • Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed
