SR Business Analyst - Business Applications

About The Position

The Senior Business Analyst partners with business stakeholders and application development teams to define, document, refine, and validate business and system requirements that support the Patient Services and Marketing organizations. This role serves as a key liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring that business needs are translated into effective technology solutions. Key responsibilities include requirements gathering and documentation, backlog refinement, user story development, testing coordination, user acceptance testing (UAT), and stakeholder communication throughout the development lifecycle. The Senior Business Analyst helps ensure that system enhancements are thoroughly defined, tested, communicated, and successfully adopted to meet business objectives.

Requirements

  • BA or BS degree in business, IT, business analytics, finance or a related field with 5-10 years of experience.
  • Knowledge and experience working with core business applications and reporting tools such as presentation Microsoft Office suite, Power BI, and Excel data analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and data analysis skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of business processes or stakeholder management.
  • Experience in a regulated environment such as healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or health services.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or other CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, and FileMaker.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and application development teams.
  • Facilitate requirements workshops, stakeholder meetings, and solution review sessions to ensure alignment on business needs and project objectives.
  • Communicate application enhancements, project status, risks, decisions, and release updates to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Owners, Developers, Quality Assurance, and business leaders, throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Partner with Patient Services, Sales, Marketing, and other stakeholders to gather, document, analyze, and refine business and system requirements.
  • Translate business needs into user stories, functional requirements, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
  • Manage and prioritize requirements and enhancement requests in collaboration with business and technical teams.
  • Ensure requirements are complete, clear, testable, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Support backlog grooming and sprint planning activities.
  • Collaborate with development teams during solution design and implementation to clarify requirements and support decision-making.
  • Evaluate proposed solutions to ensure they meet business and user requirements.
  • Obtain and document end-user feedback to support continuous enhancement of business applications.
  • Develop and maintain business process documentation, functional specifications, and system documentation.
  • Develop test scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria for application enhancements and new functionality.
  • Coordinate and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
  • Validate that delivered solutions meet documented requirements and business expectations.
  • Support release planning, deployment readiness, and post-release validation activities.
  • Assist in the development of training materials and user communications for new features and system changes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for requirements, business processes, decisions, and project deliverables.
  • Track and report on the status of enhancements, defects, and project activities.
  • Assist with the development of reports, dashboards, and metrics that support business decision-making and operational visibility.
  • Support prioritization and documentation of application support requests and enhancement opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
