About The Position

The SDSU Research Foundation (SDSURF) is seeking a Sr. Banner Programmer/Analyst to join their Information Systems (IS) team. This role is crucial in supporting SDSU's research mission by maintaining and modernizing the enterprise systems that manage financial, human resources, and research administration. The position involves a blend of daily system maintenance and strategic initiatives to enhance the digital infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative technologist who believes in the power of data and seamless systems to enable researcher and employee success.

Nice To Haves

  • Highly proficient in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Experience with Linux server administration and shell scripting (e.g., RedHat).
  • Proven experience configuring and maintaining Ellucian Banner ERP systems and related servers.
  • Solid working knowledge of SSO integrations (SAML2).
  • Experience with Oracle APEX.
  • Experience with Banner Finance/HR modules.
  • Experience with Banner 9 Admin Pages development.
  • Experience working with API/JSON integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, and document custom applications, reports, and workflows using tools like Oracle PL/SQL and APEX.
  • Configure and manage servers (Tomcat, ORDS) and Linux environments, particularly for the Ellucian Banner system.
  • Set up and manage Single Sign-On (SSO) using Azure Active Directory and digital certificates.
  • Assist with system upgrades, maintaining Banner code (Java), and integrating new technologies.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to system performance and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with departments to translate business needs into secure, scalable tech solutions.
