About The Position

Would you like to be part of a team focused on increasing the adoption of Amazon Web Services in State & Local Government? Do you have the business savvy and the technical background necessary to help establish Amazon as a key technology platform provider? Amazon Web Services is expanding into the U.S. Public Sector market, and the State & Local Government team within Amazon offers a creative, fast paced, entrepreneurial work environment where you’ll be at the center of Amazon innovation. We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Sales Executive to focus on State & Local Government with some of our key accounts. The ideal candidate has sales experience in this vertical with a terrific reputation for overachieving quota while focusing on the customer. S/he should also be a self-starter who is prepared to develop and execute against a territory coverage plan and consistently deliver on quarterly revenue targets. The ideal candidate will possess both a sales and technical background that enables them to drive an engagement at the CXO level as well as with software developers and IT architects. The Sales Executive will be an exceptionally strong and creative thinker who thrives in a team environment and embraces all aspects of selling. S/he will must be able to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment and have very strong verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of direct sales or business development in software, cloud or SaaS markets selling to C-level executives experience
  • 10+ years of business development, partner development, sales or alliances management experience

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of building profitable partner ecosystems experience
  • Experience developing detailed go to market plans

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive account/territory plan, including goals for customer references, support, professional services, and training.
  • Scale out an integrated go-to-market team in a highly complex environment.
  • Support all AWS operating cadences and represent a consolidated view of the district to senior AWS leaders.
  • Drive revenue and market share in a defined territory and industry vertical.
  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline.
  • Manage contract negotiations.
  • Drive adoption of the full suite of AWS services into Enterprise customers, including those using AWS indirectly.
  • Create and articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services.
  • Accelerate customer adoption.
  • Lead a Customer Obsessed business that delights our customers and ensures customer satisfaction.
  • Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts.
  • Build and leverage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to further adoption of AWS services.
  • Develop relationships and engage with cross-functional and partner ecosystems to extend reach and drive adoption.
