About The Position

The Autonomy Research Engineer 2 conducts collaborative research, data analyses and software engineering, under the supervision of a project or task lead, supporting a group’s research and development objectives. Mission autonomy is the ability for autonomous agents or teams to conduct strategic decision-making and coordinated actions toward longer-term operational objectives through persistent world modeling, predictive simulation, and adaptive planning under uncertainty and adversarial conditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or similar educational background, or equivalent experience and 3+ years of experience in related industry experience or Masters Degree and 1+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Advanced experience in research software development with relevant programming skills in MATLAB/C++/Python.
  • Experience with AI/ML/Autonomy software libraries.
  • Experience with simulation, development and deployment environments.
  • Ability to sit or stand at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require the ability to push/pull/lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to Obtain and maintain an active US DOD security clearance.

  • Ability to identify, analyze, and creatively solve complex problems
  • Ability to execute logical reasoning and decision-making skills

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assigned and/or collaborative research, data analyses and/or software engineering activities as directed, that support technical and program objectives.
  • Support the group’s business development activities by developing technical proposal content, supporting data analyses and/or software engineering, as needed, under the guidance of a proposal technical lead.
  • Document and communicate technical results, data analyses, key findings, and takeaway conclusions of research and development activities to internal audiences.
  • Contribute to publications as needed.
