About The Position
Join Rain Bird as a Sr Automation Tools Developer and play a critical role in the advancement of our embedded software and hardware automation initiatives. Based on-site in Tucson, AZ, you’ll be at the forefront of developing robust drivers and test automation tools for Windows and Linux machines, directly supporting the automated validation of controllers with embedded firmware. This is a hands-on engineering role with direct impact on the quality and scalability of Rain Bird’s products, offering continuous opportunities to develop your expertise in embedded systems and automation.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in C++, C#, C (driver development for Windows/Linux)
- Experience developing tests involving firmware, software, and hardware integration
- Experience with SQL Server for relational database management
- Proven ability to design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks and user interface applications
- Strong grasp of CI/CD pipeline integration and cloud platforms like AWS
- Proficient with API testing tools (Postman) and version control (Git)
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with Java or Python
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Zephyr
- Prior work with irrigation systems or similar hardware
- Knowledge of SAFe methodology
- Hands-on experience leveraging AI technologies for test automation efficiencies
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and drivers for end-to-end, UI, mobile, API, firmware, and hardware integration scenarios
- Develop, update, and maintain proprietary tools for automated testing of Rain Bird products
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery and rapid innovation
- Troubleshoot, validate, and resolve software and hardware issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Contribute to the identification and implementation of Design for Testability (DFT) requirements
- Collaborate closely with agile and platform teams for seamless integration of new automation tools and technologies
- Evaluate, select, and implement emerging automation technologies to drive process improvements
